About Ayia Napa

Ayia Napa is located on the South Eastern tip of the perfectly formed Cyprus Island. It is perhaps best known all over Europe as a famous tourist resort and is one of Cyprus's most popular beach resorts. Normally the little village has less than 1000 inhabitants, but during summer season it hosts more than 10.000 tourists per day.
The beaches are some of the best in the island: thin and fine sand, hidden among a chain of rocky boulders that form many small and cosy bays. The main centre of the district is Paralimni, 3 miles north of Ayia Napa itself. East of the village is Protaras, known for its lively nightlife and partyful people and is now much more family orientated with a great selection of bars, taverns and restaurants.
Cyprus is ideally situated in the Mediterranean, and basks in year round sun. With its long history, Cyprus has managed to maintain her ancient mystery whilst growing and developing with European culture. Cyprus villas are surrounded by beautiful beaches and striking mountains. The beaches run from Ayia Napa in the east to Paphos (Pafos) in the west. This combination lends itself to a variety of fantastic walking, relaxing, sunbathing, swimming, sailing and exhilarating watersports in many resorts. Whichever rental villa you choose, a Cyprus holiday villa or cyprus apartment has something for everyone.

Things to do in Cyprus

There is a huge amount of choice on a Cyprus holiday. There are a huge number of villas for rent in Cyprus, including luxury villas, self-catering villas and family villas, in all parts of the island. The choice is vast, and there are still luxury properties available for rent even for a last minute holiday to Cyprus. Apart from sunbathing on the beaches and enjoying swimming, diving and kayaking in the sea, there are of course a huge number of Greek and Roman relics on the island. Watching a performance in a Greco-Roman amphitheatre carved out of the rocks not an experience you forget. Also, a visit to Petra tou Romiou, the rock marking the position where Aphrodite emerged from the sea foam is a mythical ‘must see’.
Due to the positioning of the island, Cyprus properties are an ideal base for exploring the Greek Islands, Egypt and the middle-east. Cruises depart daily for these three destinations.
Away from the coast, the interior of Cyprus is wholly different. It has a timeless feel to it, with terraced vineyards and mountainous terrain ideal for hiking or mountain biking.

Places to Holiday in Cyprus

The tremendous history of Cyprus is somehow encapsulated in the town of Famagusta, which has the best examples of medieval architecture in the eastern Mediterranean.
Down the coast from here is the resort of Limassol, the largest of the seaside resorts, and with the most vibrant nightlife and wines in Cyprus, culminating in a 10 day pre-lent carnival in February.
Larnaca on the other hand is a much more secluded resort. This does not mean there are any less facilities though. Larnaca still provides daily cruises, sport provision and 25km of sandy beaches.

Weather in Cyprus

Cyprus, being in the Mediterranean is hot for most of the year. The sea is warm enough to swim in until November, and average temperatures from May until mid-October are over 32°C, although it is slightly cooler in the mountains.
